Every public school in Kentucky was closed on Monday April 2, 2018 due to teachers protesting primarily the lack of funding. Many teachers say they're tired of raising money and paying out of pocket for their underfunded classrooms. “This wasn’t caused by a natural disaster. This is a man-made crisis,” said National Education Association President Eskelsen Garcia.

Very few speakers lift the morale of teachers the way Larry Bell does. The issue of morale must be addressed in every school and every district in the great state of Kentucky. The one thing everyone can agree upon is that educators must continue to do a good job for children in the classroom. No one wants students to suffer because of adult issues. Helping Kentucky teachers maintain high standards through high morale and high expectations is not going to be easy, but it is paramount. Helping teachers regain the “joy of teaching” has been Larry’s life passion.

Every Kentucky school administrator and district administrator must make improving teacher morale the highest priority for the coming year.

"Kentucky teachers are some of the most resilient, hard-working people in the country. Kentucky teachers work with students from extreme poverty backgrounds in mountainous areas, deal positively with inner city issues, as well as suburban problems. Yet, I have seen Kentucky teachers accomplish things others may consider miracles. It has been my honor and privilege to work with almost half of the Kentucky districts over the last 17 years. It is most important that Kentucky teachers are shown the greatest respect by school and district administrators this coming year. In order to help Kentucky teachers maintain the high standards of excellence they have always shown, they must be treated with great respect at every staff development opportunity. My workshops remind teachers of the difference they are making every day with children and my presence demonstrates how much the administrators appreciate their efforts. I welcome the opportunity to present for your staff. They will love it and be super-excited to get back into the classroom again."
